Transforming the customer experience

Australia Post had one of the most trafficked sites in the country but with a 10 year-old technology platform and dated design, it was beginning to show its age. Deloitte undertook a full rebuild of the site and employed customer research to deliver the new site.

Responding to customer needs

The site is now more interactive and responsive to customers’ needs. Three of the most popular applications - Postcode Search, Postage Calculator and International Post Guide – are now quick and easy to use.

Deloitte implemented an OpenText CMS, an AJAX front end and public APIs. The site was accredited with a WCAG2 Level AA Accessibility rating, a significant achievement.

30% increase in traffic

The website experienced a 30% increase in traffic in the first four weeks after launch in 2010. The new platform and design enabled Australia Post to more easily manage day-to-day activities and implement additional functionality.

Refreshing a top rating app

The new Australia Post iPhone and iPad app (v2) is a major upgrade for Australia Post, bringing together the best of the tools and services that people rely on with significantly improved responsiveness, user experience and design.

Ground breaking navigation and elegant functions

Deloitte worked collaboratively with Australia Post to design and develop a showcase native iOS experience. Alongside the website design refresh, the look and feel of the app was designed to maintain the familiar brand aesthetic.

The app introduces features such as scanning parcels and bills, saving and naming multiple tracked items, saving bill and payment details, and converting currency to buy online. We also introduced the ability for Australia Post to remotely configure the app with marketing, offers and general information updates.

5 star reviews on the App Store

Upon launch app users provided an average rating of 5 stars on the App Store. The app was featured by Apple as New & Noteworthy, and quickly shot to the #1 free business app and into the top 50 free apps overall.
