Building a community from scratch

Deloitte was asked to play a role in front-end design, development and configuration of the Lithium community platform, as well as input into the information architecture of the site and how the community could be managed.

The challenge was to both deliver a technical solution that had appealing structure for new community members, as well as to define an approach to content and optimisation that could grow into the future.

This groundwork for the Boost community manager was critical to continued long-term success of the Boost community.

Lithium – A community in the cloud

The project was divided into a number of streams – UX and creative design, technical implementation and community management. With stakeholders in multiple locations within Australia and other teams operating internationally, the key to the successful delivery was effective communication across each team.

We were able to work through the Lithium platform capabilities and configuration, as well as front-end integration techniques to apply a creative layer that was on-brand, and contained critical functional elements to drive community engagement.

At the same time we consulted Subject Matter Experts within Boost and Telstra to prepare an Information Architecture and critical content for launch as well as detailing an approach to managing and fostering the community into the future.

Calling in the crowd for Boost

Boost and Telstra approached a number of founding members to participate and quietly launched the site in June. Since then there has been increasing levels of activity on the site, with a number of founding members and the boost community manager providing support to an expanding group of community members.
