Dreamforce has become the biggest gathering for tech enthusiasts, industry leaders, and visionaries alike. Held in San Francisco, the three-day conference is not just a showcase of Salesforce's latest innovations, it also serves as a platform for collaboration, networking, and inspiration. The key theme was Agentforce, Salesforce's autonomous AI agents that empowers organizations to create and manage autonomous agents across various departments.
Deloitte Digital proudly served as a pioneer sponsor of Dreamforce 2024, bringing an innovative twist to the event with our interactive booth featuring a mini-golf experience. This engaging set-up not only offered attendees, customers, and prospects a fun way to unwind in the bustling conference atmosphere but also highlighted our commitment to creativity and collaboration.
With ground breaking innovation being on display at the event, we will share our key takeaways for this edition. Between all the inspirational keynotes and great forward thinking discussions with our clients and industry shapers, this year the event was mainly packed with major advancements in data management and revolutionary AI capabilities that will have far-reaching impacts on businesses worldwide. Here are two main groundbreaking advancements that Salesforce presented:
1. Agentforce and the Evolution of Autonomous Agents
This year, Salesforce unveiled Agentforce, an autonomous AI platform that represents a major leap beyond the capabilities of traditional AI assistants. Built on the Data Cloud infrastructure, Agentforce is designed to tackle complex, industry-specific tasks, removing the burden from their users. They have also introduced over 100 customizable, out-of-the-box AI capabilities across 15 industry clouds, enabling businesses to deploy Agentforce in record time. This approach means that businesses can quickly integrate these AI agents into their existing workflows without extensive customization. Whether it's optimizing supply chains in retail or enhancing student engagement in education, these AI capabilities are set to revolutionize how our daily tasks get done.
2. Data Cloud Enhancements: The Backbone of Salesforce’s AI Vision
Data Cloud has been a huge part of the Salesforce’s strategy, and this year, the company announced significant upgrades that enhance its ability to handle complex data at scale. Data Cloud now supports unstructured data formats like audio and video, enabling businesses to analyze sales calls, customer service interactions, and more in real-time. Additionally, the platform’s new sub-second processing capabilities ensure that even large-scale data operations are executed with lightning speed and provides the right foundation for generating AI-driven insights.
Alongside the two enhanced technologies, Salesforce Ventures announced their $1 billion investment in AI which highlights the importance of AI in the coming years and its growth. However, with this third wave of AI and its focus on agents, questions such as "How do we adapt to the ever-evolving world of technology and ensure that it grows sustainability and with integrity?" arise. Dreamforce has allowed us to not only learn about the latest technologies but also reflect on their effect on the world.
At the Women Who Lead breakfast, co-hosted by Deloitte Digital and Salesforce, discussions evolved around both data and AI, focusing on the impact women make in the space. Looking back at the advancements, one of the panellists highlighted the need to unlearn to be able to learn when it comes to technologies such as AI. Paired with the speed of change, it is key to stay curious and learn together on how technologies can act as our wing(wo)men. In a forward-looking statement, the Chief Data Officer for Deloitte Consulting LLP, Dr. Adita Karkera, shared her optimism for the future but also the need to ensure that women, amongst other minorities, are at the forefront to enable these technologies to grow ethically and reflect each and every one of us.
Dreamforce closes with Dreampitch every year, a session that is a must, and not only because we are proud sponsors as Deloitte Digital, but because it perfectly encapsulates the three days of learnings. This year, three start-ups that use AI, pitched their innovations to a jury to win a grand prize. Seeing how technology can come to life and solve some of our world’s biggest challenges is truly inspiring.
The three days spent at Dreamforce allowed us to not only strengthen our partnerships and relationships but also to deep dive in the world of Salesforce and how technology such as AI can act as our right-hand. We look forward to coming back next year!
