New problem
The latest tech is currently out of reach for many New Zealanders.
We love our phones. They’re an extension of our lives and connect us to the people and things we love. And as those lives grow richer and bolder, our phones evolve to meet us there.
The problem is, as technology gets more and more sophisticated, price tags reflect that. These days, it feels like we’re the ones striving – and failing – to be able to keep up with the latest update.
One NZ is fixing that.
New ideas
This is how we buy phones now.
To help people get their hands on a new phone faster, One NZ created One Wallet. A digital wallet that they load up with digital currency for customers to spend towards a new phone.
The aim is to give people that ‘new phone feeling’ back and excite them for their next mobile by fast tracking their ability to get there.
One Wallet is a disruptive proposition. One that will change the way we buy phones forever – but it needed to be communicated to a nation in a crystal clear way to take root.
That’s where Deloitte Digital comes in.
New growth
Telcos spend a lot winning customers. We put it in your wallet instead.
To cut through the barrage of telecommunication offers, discounts, and promos noise, we need to be disruptive.
Instead of waiting for people to open a One Wallet, we went ahead and did it for them. Then, put the money reserved for acquisition offers, and channeled it into the wallets of existing customers instead. All $37 million of it.
It was a mic drop moment that saw every One NZ member hurrying to open up their wallet to see if they’ve won the new phone jackpot.
The One Wallet launch was supported with a film, in-store retail activations and stores and a dedicated microsite where people can enter their phone number and find out how many One Wallet Dollars are waiting for them, as well as a ‘how-to’ build your balance.
The partnership between One NZ and Deloitte Digital will continue to combine technology and ideas to make being a One NZ customer an amazing experience.
