TBH we might have had a little tooo much fun last night at our party at the Fillmore featuring Tangerine and Anderson.Paak. But there’s no time for sleeping in today because this morning’s hot ticket was the keynote with Michelle Obama and Marc Benioff, Salesforce Chairman and CEO at Moscone North.

The line stretched halfway to Los Angeles (or so it seemed) but for the lucky folks who rose at the crack of dawn (or more likely, stayed up all night) to get in, they were treated to one. inspiring. presentation. The former First Lady brought down the house and we brought out the Kleenex because she gave us allll the feels. We all left wanting to be better people, but bettering ourselves is on hold for the moment because we had to rush over to the Palace Hotel to see our next DD speaker.

Shake it up.

No, not The Cars song – it was DD’s own Larry Mickelberg speaking AND moderating a panel on The Seismic Shift in Healthcare Marketing over at the Palace Hotel. Panelists from Roche, SmileDirectClub, Duke University, and Piedmont Health Care discussed the latest in health care marketing and the challenges they face, including how they use social media to engage with customers, the use of CRM and marketing technology in healthcare, data and analytics – and most critically, how they build credibility with their customers.

Over at the Marriott, Deloitte Digital’s Stan Martin led a thought-provoking panel entitled: “Rethink M&A: Transform while you transition with Digital M&A”, where Jon Olson, Margaret Coyle and Marco Sguazzin answered in-depth questions about the current trends in M&A. While there’s many challenges in a merger or acquisition, Stan makes a point to ask “But what about the customers?”. Robust plans, backed by metrics and insight into future technology help make integration happen. Transitioning a company is never easy, but the biggest tool to drive success is communication, communication and communication! We’re on board with that.

Connect-ing the dots.

In a room packed to the walls, our very own Dave Rosner, took the stage with our client, Jennifer Fillman, Vice President and General Manager of Specialty Services at Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions for the Service Cloud pre-keynote. In emphasizing the power of digital and technology across Life Sciences and Health Care, Dave explained how Deloitte has leveraged salesforce in the development of ConvergeHEALTH Patient Connect, our flexible platform for innovative high touch patient engagement across multiple channels. Patient Connect is changing the patient services game by enabling care adherence and care coordination for each patient’s full care network which drives better outcomes.  Patient Connect is doing that for Cardinal Health, and the packed audience was all ears as Jennifer explained the impact Connect Source, built on Patient Connect has had on their business. With their new platform, a patient services program can go live in less than four weeks. Sign us up!

Lounging for equality.

Over at the Equality Lounge, we kicked things off with a panel on “The Secret to Creating Diverse Teams.” From being comfortable with the uncomfortable, to middle school life lessons (amirite!?), to creating a sense of empathy, to tactical ways to build more diverse teams, this panel left the audience with plenty to aspire to. To quote Deloitte Digital CMO, Alicia Hatch, “It’s about bringing humanity into the workplace.”

Deloitte managing director, Humbelina Sanchez and Heat’s Mike Barrett joined TFQ in the Equality Lounge to discuss “How to Lead with Generosity and Create Cultures of Care.”  Creating a work environment that fosters honesty with open communication builds trust and loyalty between managers and their teams. Heat sponsors the The 3% Conference, an organization dedicated to increasing the ratio of female creative directors. Humbelina has led women’s initiatives in the US for Deloitte, providing a support system of networking, door opening and overall positive culture and inclusion.

Total demo-nation!

The coffee kicked in so over at the booth we were dancing to the DJ (playing Backstreet Boys because of course) and showing off Deloitte Digital’s ConnectMe demos to a slew of Dreamforce attendees. What’s ConnectMe? Glad you asked! ConnectMe creates a destination for HR services that connects employees to what matters - from pay stubs to performance management. Learn more about it here.

Also in the booth, DigitalMix team was hard at work wowing Dreamforce attendees with their ecosystem platform. DigitalMix offers unified, personalized experiences across customer engagement channels - so hot right now.

Meanwhile over at the Developer Forest, we trekked our way through the Trailhead to Salesforce Live where Deloitte’s Phil Ludlow, and Tim Johnson and Ian Chivers, the CEO and Director of Finance of GOSH, respectively, were being filmed. It’s so hard being famous…

It ain't over till it's over.

The day wouldn’t be complete without a party, because well, it’s Dreamforce and that’s how we roll. Lenny Kravitz, Alicia Keys and Lukas Nelson headlined an epic Dreamfest concert at AT&T Park. What’s better than a Grammy-award winning lineup? The fact that the concert benefits UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.

Over in the social sphere we are Tweeting, Instagramming and Snapping away, giving our followers a behind the scenes look from on the ground at Dreamforce. Be sure to follow along on Twitter (@deloittedigital) and Instagram (@deloittedigital). It’s lit!
