What does your typical day look like?

I think we can all agree that nothing has been typical over the last few years. The flexibility that came with this ‘new normal’ has given us two work lives that when they come together, work perfectly for me. In the Brand Development Team, regardless of where we are, we are still connecting, communicating, and creating. Each project we have is a new opportunity to develop the way we work together as Brand Strategists and Brand Designers.

What inspires you?

At the risk of sounding too cliché, people inspire me. A cheeky post-work beer with a colleague, a project kickstart when you just click with the client, the chat over coffee that goes a bit too long, and the calls when all you need is to talk through a concept. As Brand Designers, we don’t work in isolation. Every idea is questioned, supported, and stretched. Sounds painful but nothing sparks inspiration faster than people who want you to succeed.

What is your favourite music?

Ugh, this question really hits home at the moment. I am going through an incredibly annoying pattern where I buy concert tickets and completely forget about them. I think I bought 9 or so tickets last year, how many concerts did I attend? None of them. It’s becoming a very expensive habit. Let’s hope I have better luck in 2023, or at least get myself a calendar.

What fascinates you about your job at Deloitte Digital?

I think it's amazing to work with such a variety of people with different expertises - techies, consultants and then creative people with an agency background. I think that's fascinating.

Do you have a favorite project you worked on at Deloitte Digital so far?

I like all my projects to be honest. I work in various industry branches. Every sector and every industry has their specific challenge and I love to learn about every single one of them. 

What do you do after work to relax?

I love my dog, she just loves to go to the beach and go swimming. Hamburg is the perfect city for someone who loves to take their dog for a swim.

What fascinates you about your job?

The fact that when the client comes in with some random thoughts, and I am able to help them in aligning it in a structured form. The joy at the end of such conversations is unadulterated.

How is collaboration within the Deloitte Digital network?

Deloitte Digital Network is a very closely knit space. The saying 'It's a small world' comes to mind when I think about how we find connections, and how everyone is willing to go an extra bit, just so it's helpful.

If you could be anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you be?

If this was a possibility, I would be in Canaries at the beach. Recently discovered my love for water and I would like to explore it further.

What does your typical working day look like?

My typical day starts with stand-ups meetings. :-)

In most of our projects, we have daily stand-up meetings with our team and with client. There we sync impediments and plans for the day. Through the day, normally I have various technical sessions with developers, third party providers or client technical team, in order to define system architecture or find technical solutions.

What inspires you?

People.

We are in a consulting business. Everyday we meet, talk and work with many people. They could be our colleagues, business stakeholders from client, technical leads from other integration parties. Their ways of speaking, reacting on events, working on matters and so on, all of these inspire me in my work and life.

Why did you join Deloitte Digital?

I joined Deloitte Digital Studio together with a bunch of many-years-old colleagues. While we joined, the studio had quite smaller amount of people comparing now. I was impressed by the colleagues who interviewed us and of course by the Duesseldorf studio itself. I believed I would surely enjoy working here and grow my career together with the studio.

What does your typical working day look like?

I am either working from one of our offices spread across Germany, which offer a motivating work atmosphere, or I am working from home, which grants me maximum flexibility and balance. On a typical day, I function as a Product Manager, Scrum Master, or (proxy) Product Owner in projects such as developing user-centric Apple iOS apps. Additionally, I handle proposals or internal tasks like writing whitepapers. My creativity and ideas are always welcomed.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by people who have visions and dreams and strive to realize them both professionally and personally. I enjoy engaging conversations about politics, design, and good restaurants, as well as activities in nature. Additionally, I'm intrigued by technologies that have a positive impact on the world by enhancing sustainability and efficiency.

Why did you join Deloitte Digital?

After completing my Master's degree in Business Administration, I developed an online marketplace to address the challenges faced by traditional stationary fashion retailers. These experiences, along with the smooth and friendly application process at Deloitte, led me to my current position at Deloitte Digital.

What inspires you?

My inspiration lies in building stronger socio-economic and cultural bridges for our next generation, and in positively impacting global societies.

I joined Deloitte Digital because it aligns perfectly with my passion for blending innovation with digital business solutions. Here, I can help global clients navigate complex changes in the digital landscape.

What advice can you give to anyone interested in applying to Deloitte?

Be cosmopolitan and open-minded to embrace the diverse world.

What inspires you?

Actually, I'm regularly asking myself "What fuels my drive? What inspires me?". Surprisingly, the answer is a different one everyday. However, it sums up to two essential keywords “My Impact”. Let me give you a glimpse about that with few smaller examples:

Consulting is not only about concepts and polished presentations. It is also about discovering new solutions using proven concepts, blueprints and patterns to enable our clients toward success. Having regular exchange with skilled architects and other SMEs gives me the extra spark to push boundaries and solve highly complex business challenges in customer projects - and yes, these solutions are often communicated through slides.

Additionally, I even have the opportunity to collaborate with other offerings within Deloitte Digital – especially in times of Next-Gen AI. It opens up awesome and innovative ideas around Salesforce & cloud architecture that would have not been possible to achieve within the Salesforce practice alone. I see it as a great momentum every day. Ultimately, the acknowledgment from clients serves as a personal confirmation of the impact we make.

Which events do you particularly like to look back on during your time at Deloitte?

My heart beats two different rhythms, while answering this question: 

On the one hand, Deloitte Digital have had truly an open-door culture and vast range of team events to prove that consulting is people business. Finally, it became our Deloitte Digital DNA to openly collaborate within mixed teams and independent of designation always keeping a focus on mentoring and problem solving. I remember times, when I wrote customer proposals at the hotel’s roof-top in Barcelona with a beautiful sea view during our practice team event, or very insightful coffee breaks to exchange on architecture challenges. Both very different examples had the common aim to resolve a client’s challenge.

On the other hand, I've had the pleasure of participating in unique events geared towards career development, like the Salesforce Architecture Workshop in Barcelona, Sales Trailblazer in London, and Dreamforce in San Francisco. These experiences have fostered a skill set that empowered me to become a Salesforce Certified Technical Architect. Subsequently, I started to mentor our "Well-Architected" series of training workshops, seeking to share expertise beyond just hard-skill knowledge with our aspiring architects. Witnessing the high level of appreciation from participants during these events continually fuels my motivation.

What advice can you give to anyone interested in applying to Deloitte?

Deloitte Digital is a great place to be – especially for architects! From my experience, my learning curve has been steep, and I saw an opportunity to evolve my career. If you're considering a role as an architect with Deloitte Digital, here are my top three pieces of advice:

• Be open-minded: Working as an architect at Deloitte Digital is not limited to being a pure Salesforce Solution Architect. Don’t expect that you will master all solutions for each user story or architecture challenge alone. Be flexible to learn, connect with other experts and learn to tackle issues effectively.
• Be self-driven: Nobody expected from me ever to know every answer to every question. However, my approach is to draw a plan/picture how I get to the answer and convey the message easily – this is how I see having a problem-solving mentality.
• Be result-driven: “Don’t tell me, show me!” - even if that means small contributions towards solving a problem, it is the essence of client impact.  An ownership mindset is showcased every day through tackling tasks and exploring new areas within or around Salesforce and then delivering results that can be presented to customers

What does your typical working day look like?

The day is driven by teamwork, creativity, and finding Salesforce solutions. I'm constantly learning and adapting to new challenges. Between that I have a Coffee with my colleagues.

From the first moment I felt welcomed by the warm and collaborative team during the interview process. Their dedication to innovation and delivering exceptional results for clients aligned with my values. I was excited to work with diverse clients and make a meaningful impact.

Which events do you particularly like to look back on during your time at Deloitte Digital?

I joined Deloitte Digital during the Covid pandemic. One of most memorable days was being the first time in the office and get to know the colleagues. Later on, we had a great "Back to Office" Event.

What does your typical working day look like?

While the structure of the days depends on the projects and type of engagement. An average day often begins with a team alignment / daily in the morning. Afterwards I either start with working on my developer tasks (programming, testing, documentation etc.) or have meetings for specific topics (like interface alignments, architecture- or code reviews). After the lunch break I often have a quick synch with the development team and continue with my tasks. Depending on the weekday there can be department meetings in the afternoon or more topic specific meetings. But that's roughly how a typical day looks like.

Why did you join Deloitte Digital?

I'm part of the Garage, which is the innovation department of Deloitte. As such we have the opportunity to work on new and exciting topics in client innovation projects and internal initiatives. These possibilities were the reason why I joined Deloitte Digital.

Do you have a favorite project you worked on at Deloitte Digital so far?

I had the opportunity to work on a digitization project for the German government. What excited me with this project was that I not only worked on it but later used the resulting service as a citizen.
